We all know how important English is nowadays. Also, we know that the traditional methods do not always provide enough opportunities for students to speak in English, even though the students have studied it since they were children.
Considering these points is that the learners, at “Instituto San Martín”, are able to carry out many activities to achieve a relevant target: to speak and communicate using this useful and helpful language.
But we go further that goal. The idea –as English Department – was that with good input in English and increased motivation the students would be more likely to become more actively engaged in learning.
A good example on how to increase a good command of the English language has been carried out through the communicative activities that our students can perform at different stages of their life as students of the ISM school.
And, we have to say that they were highly benefited when they met to some foreign teenagers (Joanna and Marlene from Germany, the Canadian Michelle and the “exotic” italo-american Chiara) who were staying with us through a semester or the whole year.
A success for both students and native speakers who used English to meaningfully communicate their ideas and were able to connect with a truly motivating classroom activity.
So, the next time when you start a conversation at the ISM school you may clarify yourself just saying: “Oooops, what did you say?”
